Update Last Week of April

We have seen a very good progress over the past couple weeks. The drywall is now 95% complete and has been painted white, construction is moving along without much trouble and insulation foam installation on top of our datacenter has also been completed. VCT installation has been confirmed for next week and upon the completion of that, we are very close to wrapping up the construction phase of our datacenter and will be ready to move into the next phase which is mechanical and electrical phase. We are currently still debating whether to fill our datacenter up with APC or Rittal cabinets, but we have all agreed that we will settle with a black cabinet :) We hope to order these cabinets in about a week or so.

I would like to point out the insulation on the ceiling of our datacenter. If you notice, it is colored white and is designed to reflect heat. Another reason for us to insulate our ceiling is to prevent the hot airĀ from heating up our ceiling, hence affecting our top floor neighbor cooling. By having this insulation in place, we are really working towards saving energy for our neighbor :) Yes we’d like to be a good neighbor and prevent power from being unecessary utilized within our building. Another step closer to our green datacenter initiave!

Dry Wall has been completed, mudded and painted.

Another shot of our datacenter drywall. As you can see paint is barely drying as it was literraly applied an hour prior to this picture being taken.

The old sprinkler system will be replaced and this photo also shows that we have drywalled the rest of the building’s old infrastructure.

This is the beautifully done ceiling insulation with foam. This foam is put in place to prevent hot air from heating up our top floor neighbor.

Another shot of the ceiling insulation.

Our mechanical team has completed the measurement of HVAC and ducting placement.

Our 1200amps @480V distribution switch installation has been completed. This will be the backbone to our datacenter power.

Installation completed on 4/25/2010!

Monster electrical switch, brand spanking new :)
